I lost Elsa this morning. I lost her to the dark side. A screaming, stomping, "I hate you and don't love you," flipping out dark side. She was hungry, but not for the remainder of her breakfast still sitting on the table "for later." not, apparently, for anything in the house. So I stayed gated up in the living room where I was temporarily safe from a 3 year old who cannot climb gates and was otherwise preoccupied with physically punishing the kitchen floor. Now all I had to worry about were two toddlers somersaulting off the couch, into the pack n' plays, while also screaming "backpack" at the tv because Dora had ended.

Then, I hear a sweet little voice from the kitchen say "mommy! Help me get out of here!" this is what I found...strapped I'm completely. Apparently leftover kix from the boys' trays were an acceptable snack.

How badly do you think I wanted to leave her in there? Oh and by the way, she is wearing see-through tights as pants today. Beautiful.

Thanks Becka for being so good at remembering to take pictures as it is never something I think to do! There was no way Elsa was getting into that chair, too! I know everyone says this, but I can not believe these boys are 11 months old. What a ridiculous 11 months it has been. At 11 months old, Oscar has 7 teeth, Teddy has 6. They are both eating more than seems humanly possible and love to eat "real" food all the time. They are both taking lots of steps, which of course results in falling down quite a bit. They love to give extremely affectionate "french" kisses. They are doing great and are tons of fun (fun=craziness for Mommy!)

This is a good example of a "Teddy Face." He makes the most ridiculous faces and is such a drama queen! It's very difficult to catch them on camera, however!

And, by the way, I have been receiving numerous complaints for the lack of updates on my blog. As some of you know, I really wanted a blackberry so I could post pictures directly since I never get computer time. Well, for some reason I am not able to email pictures directly to the blog - I have tried everything and set it up numerous times. Anyone else is welcome to try to figure it out. We had a great Thanksgiving! It was so fabulous to be here with our families and not have to travel 900 miles. Grammie Doo Doo, Pop Pop, Auntie, Aileen, Tricia, & Lauren came over to our house so we didn't even have to go anywhere at all. It was wonderful & relaxing! Thanks guys :)

7 Months Old!

Teddy & Oscar are 7 months old. They seem so old suddenly! They are both crawling now and Oscar likes to crawl on top of Teddy. They are eating fruits & veggies like champs. The cutest thing is how much they are recognizing each other now and making each other laugh and smile. They are taking pretty regular naps and have a regular bedtime, although nighttime sleep is still somewhat unpredictable. In reflecting on the past 7 months, although we still have not had a full night sleep, things have come a long way from the first few weeks (months...) Hooray 7 months!

Trick-or-treat! Elsa was very scared of all the people in masks. It was sad. But, she did get to collect & eat some candy!

This morning we ran a 5k and dressed up as The Wiggles. Oscar was the Red Wiggle, Elsa was Yellow, Teddy was Blue, Shelley was Purple, and Aaron was Captain Feathersword, the Friendly Pirate (and Elsa's favorite!!)

We had a lot of fun! The race was to benefit the Travis Roy Foundation and we got to meet him after the race! It was a nice day & a nice race! :)

Teddy & Oscar are 6 months old! They are both trying so hard to crawl and are making good progress. It's only a matter of time. Scary. They are both eating rice cereal & oatmeal and have recently tried bananas, pears, and sweet potatoes. They love them all! And, as you can tell, they are not under-fed!

Finally, the boys with their big sister. They LOVE Elsa! They look at her all the time and laugh at her and think she is just the bees knees (she is!)
I love Elsa's face in this picture. What a mess!
Elsa is doing a great job as a big sister and testing the limits of mommy's patience with great regularity. She has learned how to climb out of the pack n' play and her crib. This has made her quite excited, but me...not so much. She still insists on doing everything herself, but is not quite able, which results in her spending most days in her pjs because I'm not usually willing to fight over getting dressed. She is still talking like crazy - she basically carries on regular adult conversations now, starting to use pronouns instead of talking like Elmo and she speaks in complete sentences most of the time. The Wiggles are on TV a LOT (too much), as is Sesame Street. But, despite all the craziness, we are pretty settled into our routine and doing well!

Does this look comfy to you? This is Teddy (L) and Oscar's position of choice...when they aren't rolling over. The rolling over and insistence on moving around on their bellies is becoming a big problem with the hardwood floors. It's very sad when a nose, mouth, or chin finds a piece of floor where there isn't a nice blankety cushion.

Being around all these babies has really helped Elsa explore her mothering instincts and develop a strong skill set. She has watched me give Teddy & Oscar baths so much that now she knows how to bathe her own baby.

5 Months Old!

Teddy & Oscar are 5 months old! They are doing well, although they are both getting over their first cold, courtesy of their big sister. They are developing different personalities. I have included this picture to demonstrate...
(Teddy left, Oscar right) Teddy is happy-go-lucky and always smiling. Oscar is very serious and determined. That is not to say that he doesn't ever smile, but he is the thinker!

They can both roll every which way and they do it as much as they can. It usually involves a large amount of puke, so we are going through lots of towels and blankets during playtime! They both love to play in the exersaucer and are practicing sitting up on their own. They have started having a little bit of cereal every day. Teddy seems to take his down with nothing but smiles and Oscar usually cries during his. They are starting to get into a pretty good sleeping pattern, although it is not complete yet. They sleep well at night for the most part - going to bed between 5:30 and 6 and waking up sometime around 5:30 or 6. But, we still have the occasional 4:00 wake up or middle of the night back rub. I am trying very hard to get them to take regular naps on the same schedule, but that is taking more work. Some days it works great, though! Overall, they are doing well and I can usually get a few minutes of the day to eat lunch now! And, as we can all see, they are having no problem gaining weight!

While I pump on the couch, Elsa's new favorite thing is to sit in the blue chair instead of in her pack n' play. She and I have a deal that if she stays in the chair, I will let her sit there. Consequently, she spends a lot of time saying "Elsa don't get out of blue chair." The other day, she had many requests to get "comfy" before she was settled.

I said "Happy Birthday Elsa" yesterday morning and asked her what she wanted for breakfast...she replied "cake?" And then talked about cake the entire day. I guess we know what the highlight of her birthday was!

Thanks to all of my help, we survived another week at home. The boys had a pretty good week overall. The napping improved as the week went on and Oscar finally found his thumb. This discovery has helped him relax a lot more when trying to fall asleep! Yay Oscar!

Elsa went to the dentist for her strange front tooth. The verdict is that it is probably fine but nothing can really be done until she is 3 and can sit still for more than 5 seconds at a time. He thinks it may have been 2 teeth at one point very early on and a soft spot was created when they grew together. In any case, it will be fixed next summer, primarily for cosmetic reasons unless it gets too sharp (the soft part is falling out) in which case he could try to work on it sooner.
