Lil pea was not born this weekend like we asked her to be, but that was OK because we, along with Vic and Lindsey, went to the beach. (I was glad Shelley didn't go into labor since we were about 3 hours away from UNC Hospitals.)
We visited Topsail Island, NC. Topsail is a 26 mile long island located a whopping one mile offshore. Why is it called Topsail? Pirates would hide in the channel behind the island and wait for passing merchant ships. The merchants became aware of this and watched for the tops of the pirates' sails. Some say Blackbeard hid his treasure there. Shelley wanted to look for it, but instead we just hung out on the beach.
The water was about 82 degrees and there were some good waves. Lil pea got tossed around a bit in the ocean, but we think she enjoyed it. Even though she disobeyed our orders and did not come out this weekend, we still love her. We put her car seat in the car today, the hospital bag is packed, and her room is complete. You can come out whenever you're ready!

C'mon lil' pea! We all want to meet you. I predict that she'll be here Wednesday... I can just feel it. I'm not sure which Wednesday, but definitely Wednesday :)
